Meet Falke

Hi there! Let me introduce myself! My name is Falke. I’m a 20 something university student living in Florence, Italy (when I’m not exploring a new country).

I’ve been a passionate traveller all my life, ready to discover new cultures, find hidden gems and meet locals while eating the best food. Growing up, I was lucky enough to travel a lot. My parents or grandparents would take me from country to country. Fun fact, I did my first ever trip as a 3-month-old baby. My dad booked that vacation the day I was born. So it is only natural I fell in love with travelling from a very young age.

I grew up loving vacations and travelling, but it was only around the age of 17, that my curiosity about the world and its cultures really sparked and I started scrolling hours on the internet trying to find new destinations. And of course, like every teenager, I wanted to travel with friends. So the first of many city trips happened: an amazing girl’s trip to Valencia, Spain. I continued doing trips in Europe with friends and even did my first ‘big’ trip through South Korea all the way through my bachelor’s until Covid happened.

2 weeks at home? That was fine, I would catch up on some school work. But 2 weeks quickly turned into a month, 2 months… and I suddenly had a lot of free time that I started spending on Instagram. Even though I was not travelling at the time (hello pandemic), I started sharing pictures and travel stories from previous years. This was the start of Finding Falke, the Instagram version. And I absolutely loved it!

In the summer of 2020, I slowly started dipping my toes in the world of travel blogging. I am always dreaming of my next trip, so I wanted to share travel guides and tips for other wanderlusters. Finding Falke quickly turned into my biggest passion project ever. My little corner on the internet became a guide for the dreamers who want to travel the world.

Of course, travelling abroad was not enough for me. So after finishing my master’s in International Politics at the University of Ghent, I decided to move to one of my favourite cities in the world. I moved to Florence, Italy to pursue another master’s. And this might not be a big surprise but I chose a master’s in Sustainable Tourism. So here I am, continuing all my adventures in Italy.

Here’s to discovering the world, experiencing an endless amount of cultures, trying new delicious food every day and maybe meeting one day somewhere across the world!

Love, Falke
