Eco-friendly Gift Ideas for Travellers

I’m not going to lie, travel can leave a big carbon footprint. So I have been trying to be a lot more conscious about the travel essentials I buy. Investing in a good water bottle is one of these things. Using eco-friendly travel products can make a huge difference in the environmental impact of travellers and help to reduce waste. I hope you find some new eco-friendly travel products to take with you on your next trip abroad or gift to that special traveller in your life.

Here are my favourite eco-friendly gift ideas for travellers!

Collapsible & reusable straw + utensils

Eco-Pals’ mission is to create less waste in the world and keep marine wildlife safe from disposable plastic! This straw will truly last you a lifetime, comes in different colours and is dishwasher safe. Plus, you can easily attach the case to your keys, AirPods and even your water bottle! They can be taken anywhere along your travels. They also make an awesome little gift!

If you want to gift a little something extra, opt for a set of on-the-go utensils. As a student and as a traveller, I can’t stress enough how handy such a set is.

Water Bottle

I think it’s safe to say that everyone knows Brita. You even might have the pitcher at home. But did you know they also have a bottle with a filter? No more worrying about having to buy plastic bottles. Plus, this one keeps your water cold which makes this bottle ideal for tropical destinations!

Reusable Coffee Cup

On the note of reusable bottles, getting a reusable coffee cup is a wonderful switch, too! While some places/cafés might not allow this for safety and health reasons, other places highly encourage it. They even give discounts (yes, Starbucks too!). At the very least, you can store your coffee or tea in the reusable mug with coffee from home when you’re on the go! There are so many incredible designs these days! All kind of prints, colours and even self-stirring ones for whoever likes some milk or sugar in his/her coffee. These coffee cups have both a straw and flip lid – perfect for both hot and iced coffee.

Reusable Makeup Remover Pads

Bambaw’s mission is to empower you to create less waste anywhere you go. The set includes 4 scrub and 12 soft reusable cotton rounds. The scrub pads are made to clean off tenacious products and softly exfoliate the skin. The softer pads are great for sensitive areas like the eyes. These makeup removing pads will serve you for years.

Portable Charger

portable charger is so handy when travelling. And a must-have these days. This charger is extra special! It’s designed for the outdoors. The solar power bank is rainproof and the outer case is made from durable ABS material, which protects the battery better from dust, crashes or drops.

Shampoo + Conditioner Bars

I love the concept of shampoo and conditioner bars. They don’t use plastic packaging and are way easier to travel with (no liquid allowance issues and no leaking bottles)! This duo set offers environmentally-friendly, salon-quality haircare that cleans your hair, without any sulfates, phthalates, parabens and silicones. They have three formulas – maintain, moisturize and volumize- for every hair type one. Plus, recyclable packaging!

Straw shopping basket

Refusing plastic bags when shopping is an easy way to reduce plastic waste. This straw shopping basket is the perfect replacement for those plastic bags. Not only is this one hell of a stylish shopping bag, but it’s also the perfect bag for a day at the beach or a picnic.

Notebook + pens

As you probably know, most travellers love to write down of all their travel adventures. So why not give them an eco-friendly notebook. The pages and cover are made of recycled materials and it’s the perfect size to carry everywhere.

You are going to need an eco-friendly pen for your green notebook and you can’t go wrong with the Pilot B2P pen. It’s made from recycled water bottles and is refillable too.

I hope this list helps you find new eco-friendly gift ideas for your favourite travellers.
